I need help advertising my website?

I have a website for handmade / custom diaper bags, changing pads and other misc baby items... as well as tote bags. Although I am getting a few orders, I really have capacity for more. Any ideas on how to get my site out there and get more hits?
also, I do not have a lot of money to do this. I'm hoping for some ideas that cost little money, or that I can do myself.

    Website advertising

Start a blog. Link it to your site. Find articles relating to babies and baby care, and quote them and insert links to them. You can make it very personal, like a journal, or do product reviews. Or both. If you are willing to advertise other baby-care items, you may be able to get advertisements on it (check Google Ads, and Yahoo). You can also advertise through Google’s Adwords. It allows you to set a monthly limit. However, you need to research your competition in this area. In fact, your biggest competitors may be likely customers/distributors.

Well you do a have a lot of options that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Yes, one of the things is starting a blog which in the long run will probably bring you traffic. Since you have an online store you want to see results right away.

The first option is Google Adwords: You will advertise your online store in the sponsored search results and pay per click. If you do extensive keyword research this might be the right option for you and it is relatively cheap. You can do this also at Yahoo and MSN.

Second option is to join a couple of Chambers Of Commerce. Yes, I know some are not as cheap but most of them will give you a database of email addresses. So you can send out email newsletters to other members. You can see some of our clients newsletters at . Constant Contact will let you choose from several different designs. This also a great way to stay in contact with your previous clients informing them of your current and upcoming specials.

The third option is to chat about your products on Message Boards. Join some message boards who would benefit from your products. Give useful advice to the members and make sure you don’t do the spamming thingy.

Hope it helps and good luck with your business.

1.Find out if any local radio/ television personalites have had children and send them a free bag. More than likely the radio dj might mention it on the air… bang! free on air advertisements.

    2. Donate a few to a center that deals with homeless mothers or at risk mothers and then put out a press release to all the local media outlets. You will do some good, you will promote your product, and your potential customers will see you as a caring business not just a business.

    3. Find out if any charitble groups are having an auction to raise funds. Donate some of your bags and they will be forced to annoucne your name or give you thanks.

I can help you with these ideas including graphic design, logos, or press releases for more information visit

    4. Always list your website as I did above. According to the source code on this page over 270 people have viewed your page. That is 270 people that could have visited your site. Any of those persons could have bought a bag or at least refered you.

Got something to say?
